Culture: Preserving, celebrating, passing on
Culture is the soul of a nation. It shapes our identities, nourishes our imaginations and unites our communities. In Côte d’Ivoire, cultural wealth is immense, but it faces challenges: loss of traditions, marginalisation of local languages, and lack of access to creative spaces.
At the Attou Foundation, we believe that culture is a powerful lever for development and social cohesion. We work to preserve, promote and pass it on to future generations.
The challenges
- Loss of traditions: Ancestral skills, dances, stories and music are at risk of disappearing if they are not protected.
- Erosion of local languages: Ivorian languages are essential to collective identity and memory.
- Limited access to creativity: Young artists and artisans often lack the resources and support to develop their talents.
- Cultural inequalities: Rural and marginalised populations have fewer opportunities to access culture and arts education.

Digital living heritage
Creation of an interactive platform to archive, document, and disseminate traditional dances, music, and oral narratives threatened with extinction in West Africa, involving young people in the digitization of cultural heritage.

Climate change
Acting for our planet, acting for our communities. We support communities in limiting the effects of climate change by promoting sustainable practices and responsible management of natural resources. Every action counts towards a greener future.
Gender-based violence
Listen, protect, act. We raise awareness, train and support victims of gender-based violence. Our goal: to build safe environments where every woman and young person can live with respect and dignity.
Education
Learn today to grow tomorrow. We work to promote inclusive, quality education, particularly in rural areas. Providing school kits, adapted learning spaces and support for teachers: we do everything we can to ensure that every child has a chance to succeed.
International cooperation
Stronger together. We build strong partnerships with local and international actors to pool skills and resources, thereby creating a sustainable and large-scale social impact.
Renewable Energy
Lighting up lives, protecting the future. We install clean energy solutions, such as solar kits, to bring electricity to isolated communities. Awareness-raising, training and responsible practices accompany each project to ensure sustainable development.
